I made up my stunning bride Joanne at the Inchrya Grange a few weeks ago.
"Macdonald Inchyra Hotel & Spa is a magical, elegant setting with a stunning backdrop in the form of the majestic Scottish countryside. This beautiful Scottish manor house, with its stone façade is as handsome as the groom and our sculpted gardens as pretty as the bride - truly a picture-perfect wedding venue. Our luxurious accommodation, excellent food and drink, plush function rooms and lovely photo locations make this Central Scotland hotel the natural venue for your big day."
Today's venue for my makeup services was Orocco Pier, in South Queensferry near Edinburgh, my bride was the beautiful Laura Skedd.
The hotel is a refreshing cocktail of contemporary metropolitan chic a choice of bar areas, a stylish dining restaurant, and a dedicated fully adaptable events space while the seventeen boutique bedrooms and three levels of outside decking make the very most of the unique water's edge setting in the heart of the historic village of South Queensferry.
At Orocco Pier excellence is the keyword. They pride ourselves in having attentive, professional, efficient staff. The full programme of seasonal events throughout the year promise the same hallmarks: high standards, excellent delivery and fun.
At Orocco Pier, they know that planning a wedding is about more than just finding the perfect venue. It's about making your day memorable, for you and all your guests.
Today I had the pleasure of working beside one of central Scotland's most accomplished wedding photographers, Emma Gray.
This weekend I had the pleasure of doing the bridal makeup for a wedding at Dundas Castle near Edinburgh.
Dundas Castle is one of Scotland's most beautiful and historic castles and it is now an officially recognised 5 Star Exclusive Use venue. Built in 1818 by the renowned Scottish architect, William Burn, the Castle is now the stately home of Sir Jack and Lady Stewart-Clark.
Secluded in the peaceful countryside of its own 400 acre estate, yet only 8 miles from Edinburgh, Dundas Castle offers all the comforts and high standards associated with the best of hotels.
The whole day went exceptionally well, Dundas Castle is a truly stunning location.

I had the pleasure of filming with my friend Danielle at Behind the Wall, Falkirk (http://www.behindthewall.co.uk/) for TheLipstickLoungeTV (http://thelipsticklounge.tv/).
Here is the result, I hope you like it.
I had the pleasure of being the makeup artist for the wedding of Jorden and Jack at Glenskirlie House and Castle near Falkirk.
The Glenskirlie team has an amazing track record for hosting weddings - we know because the brides tell us how happy they are about the way their receptions are staged. Each bride is looked after as if she is the only bride ever to choose Glenskirlie. She has the choice of two exquisite venues - the stunning Glenskirlie Castle with a contemporary twist or the Edwardian grandeur of Glenskirlie House with its magnificent surroundings - each is individual just like our bride.
The beautiful bride Jorden obviously enjoyed her day and was a please for me to work with, and also for Mark Timm the photographer.
It was Laura Kelly's wedding for which I was the makeup artist at the Grange Manor Hotel in Grangemouth near Falkirk.
Set in landscaped gardens, with the look and feel of a country house hotel, on the outskirts of Grangemouth and Falkirk.
With easy access to the motorway for Stirling, Glasgow and Edinburgh, they are in an ideal location for exploring central Scotland. Grangemouth and Falkirk business districts are 5 minutes away, Edinburgh Airport is an easy 20 minutes away, with Glasgow Airport just a 45 minute drive.

An eclectic array of beauty trends have begun to unfold from Fashion Week Spring Summer 2014, and here is our round up.
Pretty in pastel, washes of subtle shadow are buffed across the eyes this season.
At Rochas hollowed-out lavender eyes are created with a combination of shades using the 212 eye Colour Quad from Clé de Peau Beauté. Lucia Pieroni, lead artist kept the lips barley there and left the skin muted, Lucia describes his creation as “…how a mermaid might look if she’d been out of the water too long?”.
Skin is minimal with subtle contour at Balenciaga and is a style stamp by many. Makeup extraordinaire Charlotte Tilbury using MAC makeup focused on fresh-faced skin at Sportmax, concealing where needed, and applying lip pencil by smudging it on with the fingertips to create a natural tint.
Bold lips are back with a hint of neon orange at Rag & Bone, balanced by natural, luminous skin created by Gucci Westman, using Revlon. The neutral tones of this fashion season perfectly compliment the daring bold lip.
There is an abundance of low key; casual styled hair, nonetheless still perfectly groomed this season. Hair guru Guido Palau executes beautifully, minimal effort hair with loose waves, using Redken Full Force 23 spray at Marc By Marc Jacobs.
It is elegance personified at Dolce and Gabbana with exquisite embellished and printed pieces on the catwalk. Makeup maestro Pat McGrath creates a beautiful contrast to this season’s fashion at Dolce, with subtle, beautiful glowing skin. Hair is replete with flower blossom appliqué or ornamental detail of antiquarian Sicilian coins that are woven into the hair, creating an ethereal, romanticized look. Perhaps creating a signature style for Spring/Summer 14’.

Good afternoon all my makeup chickas!
So, following on from the images in the previous blog post here is the final finished outcome!!
I LOVE the result, and loved working with such a great team of creatives!
Have a lil watch, you will not be dissapointed!!
Yesterday, I had the pleasure of working on a short fashion film in Glasgow with fashion stylist Terri Higgins, and also alongside the talented Martins Melecis - the man behind the lens!
Terri had the concept of “A love affair with beauty” and the short film being “a representation of the relationship between the clothes and the wearer”.
The makeup was to be a fresh summer look. I used some beautiful pastel shades to create three different looks on the day. Terri also had some great ideas to add! Again on this shoot, I had to play at being hairdresser – I must add with very few utensils, however it paid off in the end, and Madeleine our beautiful model looked FABALUS!
I was super impressed with Terri’s styling – the outfits she produced were BEAUT! This chick definitely knows how to rock up some amazing looks! Highly recommend her! You can check out her fierce styling here!
Between Martins and Craig Gibson on filming, and Calum Milligan creating still images – this project will be sure to blow you away!
You can also check out some of Martins amazing skills here!!
Here’s a few sneak personal images from the day…
So Monday was to be one of my first shoots where I basically got to direct the whole thing from styling, to the makeup looks, and how I envisioned the whole finish of the shoot. I was working with Ross Campbell, great photographer! We've colaborated previously and the outcome is always fabtastic!
I was also working along side Julia Graham, owner a Frank Boutique. Using many garments from the boutique and my own other pieces we styled up Danielle Lynch - model at Superior.
The weather was BEAUT for shooting. We had the pleasure of shooting at a disused farm - all thanks to Julia, which had some really amazing views and hidden little treasure spots!
Here are some photographs from the day!
Love, SLS x
Last night we had had our first round of weekly web shoots in-house at Frank! The shop was turned into a studio in the space of minutes and we got straight down to it!
I began prepping the face of Frank, lovely Danielle Lynch- model at Superior Model Management, and one of my closest friends. I wanted to create a fresh look so I began with a beautiful creamy skin, subtle burnt metallic eyes and a gorgeous deep lilac lip - summer is slowly creeping upon us!!
Julia, owner at Frank is great to work with, fun and very personable! Frank clearly identifies itself with its bold style. Julia stocks some great brands and has recently launched herself into menswear - Shoot soon to follow!!
Being the makeup artist in residence at Frank is a lot of fun. Julia and I are always bouncing ideas off of each other and thinking of how to take things up a notch!
And here is one of my favorite images from last night shoot!
Today I took some time during my wedding makeup demonstration to ask my model and friend the lovely Sarah G Morris, Financial Director of her family owned Holiday rental company a few questions, here's what she had to tell me...
SLS: What is your “must have” handbag?
Sarah: “ The Mulberry Bayswater is my classic choice and is never out of place. This season I am really liking the lemon sherbet Holiday Bayswater.”
SLS: What are your handbag essentials?
Sarah: “Rimmel eyeliner, my Nars lipstick, Stem organics moisturiser and last but not least Crème de la Mer eye concentrate (nothing beats it).”
SLS: Favourite Wardrobe item?
Sarah: “My Whistles beaded dress from many seasons ago, I LOVE IT! It just works for so many different occasions. It was also an absolute sale bargain, so cost per wear has been fab.”
SLS: Fashion disaster?
Sarah: “Red velvet hot pants, Oh Dear!”
SLS: Favourite holiday destination?
Sarah: “The Intercontinental Aphrodite Hills Resort, Cyprus.”
SLS: Favourite places to eat?
Sarah: “For a special occasion dinner at Andrew Fairlie at Gleneagles is my all-time favourite. Lunch and cocktails with the girls has to be Tiger Lily, Edinburgh. Coffee, cake and chat is often at Mimi’s in Leith. I do love food!”
SLS: Most decadent treat?
Sarah: “A hot stone massage, accompanied by a Neals Yard facial from my therapist Janice. Followed by a glass of rose champagne & charbonnel and walker glorious champagne truffles. Mmmmm. Happy days.”
To finish here is an image from today! Quarry is most definitely one of favourite eye-shadows to use on a fair-skinned bride!
