As summer moves on, it’s often a time when we start thinking about what comes next — perhaps a change of direction, a better work-life balance, or simply finding a flexible way to create some additional income.

After more than 15 years in the beauty industry, I’ve learnt a great deal about not only the treatments themselves, but also what it takes to build a client base, become self-employed and turn practical beauty skills into something that can genuinely fit around your life.

So, for the first time, we are opening a small number of private 1:1 advice appointments for anyone who would simply like to explore the possibilities. You might be wondering:

Navigating the world of beauty
The beauty training sector can be confusing, particularly when you’re starting out. Courses can sound very similar on paper, but there can be important differences in accreditation, insurance, practical training, professional kits and the support you receive after your course. That’s exactly what these conversations are for.
This is a relaxed, private 20-minute chat. It isn’t a funding application appointment and there is absolutely no obligation to book training with us. It’s simply an opportunity to talk through what you’re considering, ask questions and get some experienced, straightforward advice about whether beauty training could be the right next step for you.
Potential funding routes
These may include PESF for eligible parents in the Falkirk area, BMET Funding for residents in Slamannan, Avonbridge, Standburn, Limerigg, Blackridge and The King’s Trust for eligible 16–30 year olds.
Additionally, assistance is possible via the local Business Gateway office; the team there will also be able to advise on current available funding as well as provide business support to start-up and existing businesses (https://www.bgateway.com/).
